The Congress of South African Trade Unions have condemned the brutal attack by the Provincial Government on the people of Hout Bay.
COSATU’s Tony Ehrenreich says “This is really disastrous when government goes to war with it’s people, when a negotiated solution can be found.”
He said The DA had in the past promised the mainly rich white community of Hout Bay that they would continue to act in their interest.
“This is an attempt to get the largely poor coloured community out of Hout Bay which is nothing new and is similar to the attack on the IMIZAMO YETHU settlement.
COSATU is going to defend the people of Hout Bay against this war on the poor and is going out there now to see how they can help the people of Hout Bay to secure their homes,” he said.
