The Gauteng Agriculture and Rural Development MEC Nandi Mayathula-Khoza today launched the vaccination campaign for Rabies.
The campaign is aiming at fighting the spread of the highly-contagious disease that can be transmitted to humans.
Several cases have been reported and confirmed in the western and southern Johannesburg.
The campaign has kicked off in Soweto at the Kopanong community centre.
Pets can be vaccinated for free at any mobile SPCA clinic.
