A car transporting children from an orphanage to a Bloemfontein school was involved in an accident on the N1 outside the city this morning.
Paramedics say a young girl was critically injured and four other people also had to be treated.
The children in the car were 11 and 12 year olds.
Netcare 911’s Jeffery Wicks says the car had apparently been standing next to the highway when a bakkie hit it from behind.
