About fifty farm workers were injured after the farm vehicle they were travelling in over turned on a district road in a forest plantation just outside of Richmond this morning.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the vehicle lying on its side with the farm workers scattered all over the grass area.

ER24`s Derrick Banks says five patients were treated for suspected neck and back injuries and the remaining forty five workers were treated for general body pains and minor cuts and abrasions that they had sustained from the accident.

He also said the patients were transported to a nearby clinic in Richmond for further medical care.

Banks added that it is unclear what really happen in the accident but the local authorities were called to the scene and would investigate the accident further.
