On Monday the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) suspended top commercial crimes prosecutor Advocate Glynnis Breytenbach.

Breytenbach was suspended three months after the NPA served her with a notice to suspend.

On Tuesday it was reported that Glynnis Breytenbach was shot at and followed around three weeks ago, in what appeared to be an attempt to intimidate her.

Democratic Alliance`s MP Dene Smuts has questioned her suspension and vowed to raise the matter in Parliament.

The African Christian Democratic Party`s Steven Swart has called on the NPA to provide protection and explain the suspension.
