Finance Minister Pravin Gordahn says there will be serious consequences if the e-tolling system is not implemented.
Gordhan says the South African National Roads Agency will lose up to R200 million for every month e-tolling is delayed.
Gordhan reminded MP’s in Parliament that government is committed to repaying its debt of R20 billion for the Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project.
His says Cabinet will try to financially support Sanral while the review into e-tolling is being completed.
