Workers Day was celebrated by South African’s across the country yesterday.
Cosatu celebrated the day by having various rallies and events across the country.
Western Cape spokesperson Tony Ehrenreich said an event was held at the Good Hope Centre and a march to the City of Cape Town and provincial government.
He added that the events highlighted that in the Western Cape there is a concern of outsourcing and labour broking.
Ehrenreich also said workers are loosing their share in provincial income, in favour of the wealthy in the province.
He said that there is a need to redirect the economy and defend the rights of workers.
