The Democratic Alliance says their march to Cosatu house on Tuesday was for a better life for young people in the country.

DA leader Helen Zille addressed a crowd saying the march was for jobs.

Zille says they plan to lay criminal charges against Cosatu’s leadership after the violence that erupted in Johannesburg, when DA supporters met with the Cosatu supporters.

Zille says her party’s march to expose Cosatu’s opposition to the government’s proposal of a youth wage subsidy turned violent when members of Cosatu unions started pelting marchers and the police with bricks and stones.

Cosatu has strongly condemned the violence, but maintain that their members conducted themselves with discipline and restraint.
