The Democratic Alliance is calling on President Jacob Zuma to instruct Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa to re-suspend crime intelligence unit head Richard Mdluli.
This comes after the Police Minister announced on Wednesday that Mdluli will be moved from his post as the Head of Crime Intelligence to another position within the Police Force.
The opposition party’s parliamentary leader Lindiwe Mazibuko, as well as top DA MPs, announced a plan to tackle the continuing saga on Wednesday.
The DA’s spokesperson on police matters, Dianne Kohler Barnard, says they are taking various steps to try to force the ANC’s hand.
