The Department of Home Affairs has been ordered to issue two women from Mpumalanga and Cape Town with their Identity Documents.

The North Gauteng High Court ruled that the department should provide Maria Nyati and Jacqui Louw with ID’s within 30 days.

Department Spokesperson Munusha Pillai says they have launched a disciplinary investigation into what caused the delay.

Pillai also says citizens should not be forced to approach courts to find relief.
