The operation to pull back onto the sea the Japanese fishing trawler that ran aground on Saturday morning at CliftonBeach is expected to begin this morning.

The City of Cape Town and The SA Maritime Safety Authority have planned a detailed operation to move the trawler.

The Disaster Risk Management Centre`s Wilfred Soloman-Johannes says the trawler will be towed out by two tug boats this morning.

Soloman- Johannes says they have decided not to remove the fuel and cargo for the operation, because there is no environmental threat at this stage.
