With the ongoing debate regarding research about the Great White shark occurring around the coastal communities of the Western Cape the involved parties will be invited to brief the relevant committees of the Western Cape Parliament.
Mark Wiley the Chairman of the Cultural Affairs and Sport Committee says for some time now there has been concern regarding the issuing of permits allowing research and other interaction with the sharks, in the White sharks’ case.
He continued to say this has not been helpful in supporting the public’s concerns.
The date for the hearing is said to be on the 15th of May in the Parliamentary chamber.
