The SA Agulhas Two arrived yesterday in Cape Town.
The vessel was coming from Finland.
It is said that the new icebreaking polar supply is much stronger and has much better research facilities than the one which came before.
Environment Affairs’ Albi Modise said the vessel is a new addition to South African research work.
He added that the Agulhas will be used to assist government efforts to understand the ocean as well as be able to reach the hidden parts of the world.
