Yesterday the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries announced their budget for the next financial year.
Their budget stands at R5, 8 billion.
The Minister Tina Joemat-Pettersson outlined how the money will be dispersed.
She projected a budget for flood damaged infrastructure of close to R400 million.
She added that the department is not waiting for floods, but they are allocating money ahead of any disasters which may occur.
Joemat-Pettersson said they have planned for floods, droughts and animal diseases.
