Freedom Front Plus leader and Deputy Agriculture Minister Pieter Mulder says South African farmers have had great success in the Republic of Congo.
Mulder met with Congolese President Dennis Sassou Nguesso last week to discuss a farming project in that country.
Twenty-five South African farmers involved in the project have already planted maize and repaired irrigation systems.
Mulder says South Africa needs to show more appreciation for local farmers to prevent them from emigrating.
