Seven people were killed and 14 others seriously injured when an overloaded minibus taxi overturned on the Schoemanskloof Road near Machadodorp in Mpumalanga this morning.
Paramedics say all the passengers are from Mozambique.
According to Netcare 911’s Jeff Wicks, the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle on a bend, causing it to roll repeatedly.
Wicks say the cause of the accident is not known at this stage and police are to investigate the matter.
He also said the injured were treated at the scene and transported to the nearby clinic.
