Trade Union Solidarity says IT Company Gijima has retrenched around 200 employees this alone and plans to retrench another 200 towards the end of the year.

Gijima says the retrenchments came after they lost contracts with Absa and the South African Police.

Solidarity Spokesperson Marius Croucamp says they plan to meet with the Company representatives next week to discuss this issue.

He also says the Company claims that outsourcing has led to these retrenchments.
