The Defence Ministry on Thursday said the land that is owned by the department was being audited.

Minister Lindiwe Sisulu told a media briefing in Parliament that she planned to use some of it to provide proper accommodation for soldiers.

She also announced that her department wanted to enter into a partnership with the private sector.

Sisulu further said that about 20 000 youth will be trained on various skills by the defence force.

The Department`s Spokesperson Ndivhuwo Mabaya says the training is aimed at recruiting the youth to be tomorrow`s leaders.
