The Premier of the Western Cape Helen Zille has announced that she is keen on going ahead with the controversial lottery-based HIV testing campaign.
Spokesperson for the Premier’s Office Zak Mbhele says will involve process of consulting various stakeholders in the heath sectors in the health sector in order to roll out similar incentive campaigns throughout various districts in the Western Cape.
The South African Doctors Association spokesperson Mark Sonderup says they have a few concerns regarding the campaign, and its sustainability.
He says caution needs to be advised around pursuing the proposed programme.
