Media reports have revealed that more than 80 Cape Town motorists are fined for various offences everyday.
The City of Cape Town says most of the offenders are motorists who jump the red light.
Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security JP Smith said they are looking at ways to limit these offences.
Smith explains that the City issues about R 1.5 million fines a month most are by laws and traffic offences.
Smith adds that many of this is for speeding and this remains the most dangerous offence.
An issue arose and the City was asked whether or not they should put more cameras in place, and the City said that they would much rather hold the people responsible who have fines and have them pay it and also to beef up court procedures.
