Due to the rapid increase in costs of the 2010 stadium, the Competition Commission is investigating the different contactors.
“The city’s position is to await the finding which it will study and then decide which action is appropriate,” said The City of Cape Town’s Pieter Cronjie
“As far as our stadium is concerned we have now completed all the concrete construction, we are now busy the finishes to the roof and the interior of the stadium and 98% of our contracts and sub-contracts that have a direct bearing on the stadium have been awarded, so we have a pretty firm idea of costs and there shouldn’t be anymore surprises in the pipeline,” said Cronjie
