South Africa’s Minister of Foreign, Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, will be attending a meeting of the Executive Council of the African Union which will take place next week in Libya.
This was announced by Foreign Affairs' Director General, Dr Ayanda Ntsaluba, who briefed media on Current and International issues yesterday at the Union Buildings in Pretoria.
According to Ntsaluba, the meeting will look at the functions of the AU authority as well as the size.
“This is likely to be a very robust meeting, and for the simple reason as you would understand, the decision about the forming of an authority was some compromise between those who wanted consolidation of the existing commission and those who wanted to move forward with the establishment of an African Union government immediately.”
