The City of Cape Town has successfully evicted suspected drug dealers in Langa today.
Judgement was handed down by Judge Siraj Desai, who ordered the occupants to vacate the property and gave permission for nine illegal structures on the property to be removed.
The tenants sold heroin, crack cocaine and dagga and between February 2006 and March 2007 there were eight SAPS drug seizures at the property.
The tenants also owed R85 000 rent, water and sewerage.
Councillor Glen Kleinsmith from the City said the tenants had forfeited all rights to rent City property.
“The City will continue in its effort in clamping down in drug and alcohol abuse in our communities and will pursue 5 more places within the next two months.”
