A murder case is being investigated after a 15 year old boy was fatally killed after he was shot in Kewtown, Athlone.
Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Ian Bennett it is alleged the deceased was approached by two unidentified males after leaving home, who fired several shots at him.
“The wounded, 15 year old victim was found laying on the ground by community members, between block 3 and block 5 in Kewtown.
“He sustained gunshot wounds to the right side of his body. He died on his way to hospital while being transported by ambulance,” said Bennet.
