Eighteen people, including two young children, were injured when two mini bus taxis collided on Strand Road in Kuilsriver, Cape Town.

The patients sustained minor to moderate injuries and were transported to various surrounding hospitals for further medical care.

The exact details of the collision are unknown but it appeared as though one taxi rear ended the other taxi at a traffic light.

Meanwhile paramedics say five people were left injured when a minibus bus taxi lost control, overturned and crashed into oncoming traffic on the N2 near Clarewood in Durban.

Spokesman Jeff Wicks says the taxi with three occupants was traveling north on the N2 when it lost control.

The taxi crashed into a truck and four cars.

One person was critically injured, two people sustained serious injuries and two minor injuries.
