Cape Town police arrested seven Fifa World Cup stadium security stewards following protests outside Stallion Security.
Reports say a group of 200 stewards gathered outside the company’s offices in Ysterplaat and police confirm that they had to use force to disperse the crowd.
More than three-thousand police officials are now being used to perform security duties at several World Cup stadiums.
Meanwhile, Stallion Security has announced a dispute with the Fifa World Cup Local Organising Committee and has cancelled its contract to provide security as a result.
Company CEO Clive Zulberg says he cannot give any further details about the dispute, as they may take legal action.
