Congratulations for Bafana Bafana’s brilliant performance against Mexico in the opening game of the FIFA World Cup last night continues to pour in. The teams played to a pulsating one-all draw in the Soccer City Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg.
The South African government was among the first to laud the team’s performance.
Spokesperson Themba Maseko says government also congratulates the South African people and all international visitors for the organised and professional manner in which they came together to celebrate the historic moment.
Maseko says government has been particularly humbled by the display of African and international solidarity at the opening ceremony.
