A Human Rights Commission probe has revealed that the City of Cape Town had infringed on the dignity of Makhaza residents in Khayelitsha for leaving toilets it had built unenclosed.
The African National Congresses Ndleleni Duma has welcomed the findings and has called for a full investigation into poor service delivery and the role City mayor Dan Plato played in the removal of the toilets.
Duma also urged ANC Youth League Members to practice restraint when demonstrating against poor service delivery.
Earlier this week, angry residents burnt tyres in protest against the unenclosed structures which led to the arrest of 26 rioters.
Police also fired rubber bullets in retaliation to the ongoing protests.
