Langa police arrested three men in connection with house robbery, rape and murder on Wednesday morning.

It is alleged the four suspects entered a house in Zone 18 while a man and woman were sleeping in the early hours of this morning.

The suspects forcefully removed the man to another room while two of the men raped the woman. They took her cellphone, clothing and an axe.

A member of the community contacted the police after he heard a woman screaming out loud on an open field. The suspects fled the field when they saw the police.

Police gave chase and arrested all three suspects in Church Street.

When the police returned they found an unidentified woman with multiple wounds to her head alongside the axe used to murder her on an open field.

Shortly thereafter another body of an unidentified man was found also with multiple wounds to his head and without shoes.

Police found the deceased’s cellphone and car keys not far from the scene.

His silver Nissan Sentra and missing shoes were found in Lerotholi Street.

The rape victim who was robbed in Zone 18 immediately identified the suspects who were still in possession of the stolen clothes and cell phone when police arrived.

The 18 years old suspects will appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s Court on charges of house robbery, rape and murder.
