Rough seas have delayed rescue operation on the fishing trawler that ran aground off the coast of Cape Town on Saturday.
The City of Cape Town says the 50-metre trawler carrying 90 tons of fuel and ammonia ran aground at Clifton ’s First Beach with 28 Taiwanese crew members and a dog on board.
Rescue authorities evacuated 19 of the crew members.
The City’s Wilfred Solomons-Johannes says the reason why the trawler ran aground is still unknown.
Solomons-Johannes also said there is no danger at this stage.
