Zille refuses to resign

The Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille has refused to resign after a damning probe by the Public Protector into a communications tender was leaked this weekend.

On the report that was leaked it revealed that Zille’s special advisers acted unlawfully when it awarded the tender to advertising agency TBWA/Hunt/Lascaris.

Zille had said she would resign as the Premier of the Western Cape if any act of corruption were found by the Public Protector.

The ANC in the Western Cape says that they are extremely worried that Zille made a comment about the preliminary report.

ANC`s Cobus Grobler says The ANC has called on Helen Zille to observe the set process by the Public Protector to investigate the allegations against her provincial government.
