The Western Cape Education MEC Donald Grant today visited the embattled ACJ Phakade Primary school in Strand.
Minister`s visit comes after media reports showed grade1 learners using ice cream containers as writing desks.
Grant says the school is overcrowded and there is a shortage of about five teachers at the school.
Grant says the school had admitted more learners than it should have.
The school was promised all the learning material by Friday next week.
