Department of Basic Education look to improve textbooks delivery

The Department of Basic Education said it has noted the report by the South African Human Rights Commission in to the delivery of Learner and Teacher Support Material.  

Departmental Spokesperson Elijah Mhlanga said most of the findings and recommendations continued within the report are already being implemented or form part of the Departments plans going forward.

Mhlanga said most of the issues that have been highlighted include such as budget and the budget for school books delivery has been increased.

Mhlanga added that they have also plans to improve communications with the schools so that they can monitor and fast track the books delivery.
