An accident this morning
involving two taxis in Johannesburg has left 21 people injured.
ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring says
paramedics from the ER24 Johannesburg West branch arrived on the scene and
found both taxis in the middle of the road.
Meiring added that the front
of one of the taxis was badly damaged after it rear-ended the second taxi.
He emphasised that the
occupants of the two taxis were found sitting on the embankment near the two
vehicles. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that they had sustained
only minor injuries in the collision.
“Fortunately no-one had
sustained any serious injuries. Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter
transported the patients to various hospitals for further treatment.” Meiring
said.
The exact details to the cause
of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
