Two security guards injured in a shoot-out

Two security guards were injured on Tuesday afternoon following a shoot-out at a shop in Pretoria Avenue in Randburg.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring has said, “ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and found a cash-interests vehicle parked near one of the shops.

Meiring added that, one male patient lay next to the vehicle while a second patient lay inside the shop.

He said that paramedics assessed both patients and found that they had sustained several gunshot wounds.One patient was found in a serious condition while the second lay in a critical condition.

He added that, paramedics immediately began their treatment of the patients and provided both with advanced life support.

"Once treated, the critically injured patient was airlifted by the ER24 helicopter to a private hospital in Johannesburg. While the second patient was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital” Meiring said. 

 The cause of the incident is still subject to the investigations local authorities.
