Ntuthuko Shoba`s lawyers argued to get him a reduced sentence.
Shoba has been convicted for masterminding the murder of his pregnant girlfriend. Earlier this year, he was found guilty of premeditated murder for ordering a hit on 28-year-old Pule, who was eight months pregnant in 2020.
Shoba appeared in the
Johannesburg High Court for sentencing proceedings on Thursday. One of the
perpetrators who was hired by Shoba to kill his girlfriend managed to overturn
state witnesses and was given a reduced sentence of 20 years in prison.
Advocate Norman Makhubela argued
that since the two men acted together, they should be given a similar sentence,
but the State prosecutor Faghre Mohammed give a number of arguments why the two
perpetrators should be treated differently.
The Acting Judge Stuart Wilson
postponed the trail until Friday when he will hand down the length of the sentence.
