Delft SAPS seeking public's help to trace a suspect involved in a rape case

Delft Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit are seeking the assistance of the public to trace a suspect, who allegedly raped a  17-year-old female in May 2022.

The police’s Jospeh Swartbooi said the suspect forced the victim to accompany him on Saturday, 21 May 2022 to a secret location and threatening to kill her if she should resist.

‘’Upon arrival at a shack in Greenpark Informal Settlement in Delft, he repeatedly raped the women. At the time of the incident he was wearing a jeans and a white shirt, and was driving a silver vehicle,’’ said Warrant Officer, Joseph Swartbooi.

Swartbooi added that an identikit, was compiled with the assistance of a rape victim, to help trace the suspect.

‘’The suspect is described as an Indian man, aged 40 and 1,70 m tall with a scar to the right side of his neck.
