Two City Power Workers Arrested in Assisting Cable Theft

Two City Power members were among the six suspects arrested for cable theft and destruction of the company`s property on Saturday.

The thieves were found at City Power`s copper cable storage facility in Booysens, Johannesburg. The energy services company stated that the two employees working that shift assisted the thieves in taking the cables. City Power also added that the employees helped the suspects enter and make their escape.

Ever since April, City Power has experienced cable thefts in its storage facility and the company has declared that there were no incidents involving armed robbery or forced entry.
