Police looking for women who paid someone else to receive the COVID-19 vaccination on her behalf

 Western Cape police arrested three suspects on fraud charges on Wednesday. This is after the Provincial Commercial Crime Unit had received a tip off on suspicious individuals in relation to the vaccination for the COVID-19 epidemic.

Colonel Andrè Traut said that a 51-year-old female suspect from Claremont paid R3000 to a 33 year old woman and a 43 year old man to arrange someone to receive the COVID-19 vaccination on her behalf, so that she can obtain the vaccination certificate which was required for travelling purposes.

A 51 year old year old suspect was arrested after he received the vaccination on the Government’s account, The other two suspects who assisted to arrange the recipient of vaccination were also arrested meanwhile the main reciprocate is still being sought

“This suspect is still being sought but we believe that her arrest is imminent” said Traut.
