Two Suspects Apprehended by SAPS for illegal possession of Firearms and Ammunition

Police arrested two suspects for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition on Monday evening in Heathfield.

The South African Police Services got the information from the community, who contacted the Atlantis Crime Prevention Unit and this resulted in the police getting the address at Heathfield Court. When the police raided the suspects home, they found a firearm with ammunition underneath a bath.

The two suspects arrested were a 59 year old male and 57 year old female but after being detained by the police, the suspects think that the weapons belong to their 31 year old son who was not at home at the time during the search.

The couple is due to appear at the Atlantis Magistrate Court when all charges have been made.
