Suspect in court today after head found in shack

A 31 year-old suspect who was arrested in connection with the human head that was found in the Ndlovini Informal settlement last Tuesday (1 April 2008), is to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrates Court on Monday.

The suspect was arrested in Engcobo in the Eastern Cape on Wednesday.

On Monday police responded to a call in the Ndlovini informal settlement in Harare, Khayelitsha where a human head was found wrapped in a plastic bag in a shack.

“A man went to the police station saying that his brother sent him to fetch certain items at the shack, to his dismay he found a human head that was partially decomposed,” says police spokesperson Elliot Sinyangana.

He adds that crime scene investigators were called in to investigate the scene. At this stage the police are investigating a case of murder.

“We hope to get the body that is missing and the person responsible for this”.
