A man had to be airlifted to hospital in Florida, Johannesburg after he suffered severe burns after being set alight by a mob of people.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha says the victim, who is in his seventies, had been doused in petrol in Florida Park before being set alight.
He was in a critical condition with 80 percent burns over his body.
Paramedics battled to stabilise the victim before airlifting him to the Baragwanath Hospital for specialised treatment. Police are investigating.
