President Jacob Zuma has given praise to farmers in Bultontein.
He praised the farmers for initiating community projects in and around the small Free State town.
Zuma attended the Boertjie Kontrei Fees (Young Farmer Community Festival).
He said that people needed to come together and work together to fight poverty. Projects these farmers are involved in include farmers cleaning the road and the township.
President Jacob Zuma also stated at the festival that communities must stand up and start doing things themselves. He said no government would just walk into a community and initiate projects. Government would much rather get involved with existing community projects and help.
