National Commissioner General Bheki Cele has been accused of lying by a senior police official.

On Friday Bheki Cele told Parliament that Generals Stefanus Terreblanche, Matthews Siwundla and Hamilton Hlela had resigned.

This allegedly after the special investigation unit launched a probe into dodgy deals worth billions of rand in their department.

Stefanus Terreblanche told a media organisation that Cele forced him out because he did not want to follow the police commissioner’s orders to approve shady property deals.

It’s been reported that the National Commissioner General was the one who pushed to relocate police headquarters in Pretoria and Durban, something which cost the taxpayer over R700 million.
