The South African Commercial, Catering and Alllied Workers Union says a full-blown strike by Pick n Pay employees is imminent.
Saccawu says if they do not succeed in their talks with Pick n Pay's management, workers could go on strike in two weeks.
Last week more than 20 000 employees returned to work after three days of industrial action.
The union’s Jan Kotze says the workers will not be on the losing end of the bargain.
They are demanding a staff discount of 10% on food items and a R550 monthly wage increase.
