Western Cape Premier Helen Zille has expressed her anger over the accident that happened yesterday in Laingsburg.
Thirteen people were killed in the accident when a taxi making its way to Beaufort West overtook a vehicle facing oncoming traffic and collided head-on with another taxi en-route to Cape Town on the N1.
It has been confirmed by the Provincial Health Authorities that the 22 people who were injured have been discharged.
Zille said “There is absolutely nothing that you can do if people decide to overtake at unsafe spots on the road. That is a tragedy waiting to happen. Road safety has to be a part of government and every individual”.
