The DA welcomes a decision by the board of Boxing South Africa to suspend the organizations acting CEO,Mr Loyiso Mtya, following allegations of corruption and fraud levelled against him.Mr Mtya was informed yesterday.

The DA congratulates the chairperson of the board ,Dr Ntambi Ravele, for her swift action in considering our call for an urgent board meeting to institute an investigation into these allegations.

DA Minister of Sport and Recreation Solly Malatsi said we find it ironic that Mr Mtya is now at the centre of an investigation involving unethical transactions when his appointment as acting CEO was specifically to curb corruption instead of perpetuating it.

“For our part, the DA will pursue all avenues available in order to ensure that all sports federations are governed in a clean and efficient manner, and that accountability is enforced should this be jeopardised Malatsi added.
