Government addresses several current issues

Government on Thursday presented to the media, cabinet’s position on several current issues which included Operation Phakisa, the New Development Bank, the violence between Israel and the Palestinian and the hijacking incidents which took place last week in Reiger Park and Bronkhorstspruit. 

Communication Minister Faith Muthambi said cabinet has approved the 2014-2019 Medium-Term Strategic Framework which will serve as the first five-year plan building block towards the 2030 vision in the National Development Plan.

Muthambi said during the 2014-2019 administration the number of outcomes has been increased to 14, with the addition of two new outcomes.Social protection,social cohesion and nation building.All in all,these 14 outcomes cover all the chapters of the NDP.

Meanwhile Women’s Month will be launched at the Union Buildings at the end of this month by President Jacob Zuma. 

The theme will be 60th anniversary of the Women’s Charter as part of the 20-years of Freedom, Moving Women’s Agenda Forward.

Communication Minister Faith Muthambi said these key events mark achievements by exceptional local women and the gains made by all South African women.The details of these event will be announced in due course.
