Three people died believed to be in their late 20’s and ten injured in an accident late last, when a bakkie and a taxi collided with each other, on the Asiphephe Road in Newcastle.

ER 24 Spokesperson Werner Vermaak said When paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene they found that some of the people were ejected from the vehicles while two of were trapped in one of them.

“Medical workers had to act quickly to treat and stabilise the injured before they could be transported to a nearby hospital. The two people that were trapped in the vehicle had to be freed by the local fire department using the jaws-of-life.” Vermaak added.
