Western Cape MEC of Health Thenus Botha said the province is seen as a laboratory around the world where lessons can be learnt.

This follows a congress on World Aids which was held in Australia.

MEC Botha said the province has already reduced the mother to children transmission rate to 1.8 percent over the last five years, which is the lowest in the country.

Ministerial Spokesperson Helene Rossouw said they deliver abstract presentations to the audiences about the development we have done in the Western Cape HIV ARV program.

“These people look up to the Western Cape as a laboratory successes and challenges in their own country Rossouw added.
